Use the contact form on the ColonDev website and mention Chroma8 in your message. We aim to reply within two business days.
To help us solve your problem on the first reply, please include:
- Your device model and iOS version, for example iPhone 14, iOS 18.2.
- The Chroma8 version number.
- What you were doing, what you expected, and what happened instead.
- A screenshot or screen recording if the issue is something you can see.
- For purchase issues, the Apple ID email you subscribed with. Never send us your password.
Drawing and exporting
What can I export?
A single frame as a PNG, an animation as a looping GIF or an MP4 video, artwork as an SVG, and a Project as a sprite sheet or as one SVG per frame bundled in a ZIP. You can save exports to Photos or send them anywhere through the iOS share sheet.
Why am I out of exports?
The free tier includes a set number of exports each day. When they run out you can watch a rewarded video ad to earn a few more for that day, or subscribe to Chroma8 Pro for unlimited exports with no ads. The free allowance resets automatically each day.
The "Watch Ad" button is not available.
That means no rewarded ad could be loaded right now, usually because of a weak connection or because the ad network has nothing to serve at that moment. Check your connection and try again in a few minutes, or subscribe to Chroma8 Pro to skip ads entirely.
My export will not save to Photos.
Chroma8 needs permission to add photos. Open the iOS Settings app, find Chroma8, and allow adding to Photos. You can also share the export through the share sheet instead.
Can I bring in an existing image?
Yes. Add an image layer from the Layers panel and pick a picture with the system photo picker. Chroma8 only receives the single image you select.
Chroma8 Pro subscription
What does Pro include?
No ads, unlimited exports, and cloud sync for your Arts and Projects. Pro is available on a monthly or an annual plan, and the current price and any free trial are shown in the app before you confirm.
How do I manage or cancel it?
Subscriptions are billed by Apple, so they are managed in your Apple ID account: open the iOS Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Chroma8. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends to avoid the next renewal. You keep Pro until the end of the period you already paid for.
I subscribed but Pro is not showing.
Open Settings inside Chroma8 and tap Restore Purchases while signed in to the same Apple ID that made the purchase. If it still does not appear, make sure you have a working connection, then contact us with your Apple ID email and the approximate purchase date.
The app says there is a billing problem.
Apple could not take the renewal payment. Update your payment method in your Apple ID settings. Your Pro features stay active while Apple retries; if the payment is never completed, they stop.
How do I get a refund?
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, not by ColonDev. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. Tell us as well if something in the app was the reason, so we can fix it.
Account, sync, and your artwork
Do I need an account?
No. You can draw, animate, and export without signing in. An account is only needed for cloud sync.
Cloud sync is not working.
Cloud sync needs two things at once: an active Chroma8 Pro subscription and a signed-in account. Check both in Settings inside the app, and make sure the device has a working internet connection.
How do I sign in or sign out?
Open Settings inside Chroma8. You can sign in with an email and password, with Google, or with Sign in with Apple. Signing out leaves your artwork on the device.
My artwork is gone.
Artwork is stored on the device unless cloud sync is on, so deleting the app or resetting the device removes anything that was not exported or synced. Restoring a device backup made while the app was installed usually brings it back. We cannot recover artwork that never left the device.
How do I delete my account and data?
Contact us through the form and ask for account deletion. We delete the account and its data within 30 days of confirming the request. Deleting the app alone removes only the copies on that device.
